Amy Schumer Lists Brooklyn Heights Townhouse for $14M, Moves Back to Manhattan

Moving for Convenience

Comedian and actress Amy Schumer is selling her Brooklyn Heights townhouse for $14 million as she and her husband, chef Chris Fischer, prepare to move back to Manhattan. The decision comes as they aim to be closer to their 5-year-old son’s school, avoiding the 45-minute daily commute.

Historic Home with Personal Touches

The couple purchased the circa-1829 townhouse for $12.25 million in 2022. The property was notably used as the Castorini family home in the 1987 film “Moonstruck” starring Cher and Nicholas Cage.

Though they loved the house, Schumer said they made it their own. They hired landscape architect Michael Van Valkenburgh, known for his work on Brooklyn Bridge Park, to redesign the backyard, replacing a brick patio with turf and adding a play structure and swing.

A Spacious Home Ready for a Bigger Family

The 5,600-square-foot home features five bedrooms, a gym, and a wine cellar—a space that Schumer admits feels too large for their small family. “This is a home that is just ready for more people,” she said, though she expressed sadness about leaving the beloved neighborhood.

Before moving to Brooklyn, Schumer sold her Upper West Side apartment for $13 million in 2023.

Brooklyn Market on the Rise

Brooklyn’s real estate market remains strong. Sales in Brownstone Brooklyn, including Brooklyn Heights, jumped 44.9% in the fourth quarter compared to the previous year. The average sale price also increased 12.9%, reaching $3.325 million, highlighting the area’s continued demand.
